Deployit has built-in support for a broad range of artifacts, JDBC data sources, JMS resources, shared libraries, application configurations, security proxies and static content. This enables organizations to support complex server, cluster and web server configurations with minimal application downtime.
Deployit provides plugins for all leading middleware and development solutions, like IBM WebSphere Application Server 5, 6 and 7, IBM WebSphere Portal Server 6, IBM WebSphere MQ, Oracle WebLogic Server 9, 10 and 11g, Oracle Service Bus, JBoss Application Server 4 and 5, Tomcat server, Maven (and via Maven Hudson, Bamboo and CruiseControl) and Eclipse.
Deployit encapsulates all of the application components, including middleware resource configuration files and application files. This way, Deployit ensures you’ll always have accurate and deployable packages to deploy to your development, test or production servers.
Existing packages can be imported. Moreover, Deployit allows developers to specify the upgrade path of a package, saving time for system administrators while avoiding manual hand-over procedures (plus errors). Since Deployit reuses configuration data, you only have to maintain a single source for all your deployment package data.
Deployit automatically discovers the configuration of your middleware environment, including all settings, names, ports, memory usage and so on. Deployit is able to discover your WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss and Tomcat environments. For WebSphere, it also discovers the configuration of your clusters and nodes. Automatic discovery ensures you always have up-to-date information on your middleware configurations before you start deploying your application.
Deployit synchronizes and compares server settings for all supported middleware environments. For WebSphere, this also includes synchronization of the available clusters and nodes. Furthermore, it groups middleware into an environment, making life much easier if you are using 100s or even 1000s of (virtualized) servers in your IT landscape. Deployit allows you to target multiple middleware components in one single deployment. This way, Deployit helps you to manage large numbers of in-house or virtual environments.
During its lifecycle, an application frequently changes from server on which it is built, tested and running. Deployit helps Devops staff to smoothly promote applications from development to test servers up to acceptance and live production environments. It supports all major middleware flavors like IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, JBoss and Tomcat. The Plug-in API ships with a toolkit compatibility kit (TCK) to validate that custom plugins conform with Deployit’s Plugin API. It also contains a number of test and support packages to help you test your customized plugins against your own middleware environments.
Deployit logs the change history for auditing and traceability purposes. It maintains an overview of what applications have been deployed to what environments, by whom and when. It also keeps track of the success/fail ratio for all deployments during a specific period of time. Deployment statistics and reports can be exported and shared in PDF and CSV format. With Deployit, you have full insight into all deployment execution logs to further optimize your IT workflows.
Deployit provides you with role-based permissions for managed objects and environments, allowing you to exactly define who can deploy what application to which environment. Deployit can integrate with your existing security infrastructure using standard protocols like LDAP.
