XebiaLabs announces support for IBM WebSphere Portal

Las Vegas, USA and Hilversum, NETHERLANDS, May 4, 2010 - XebiaLabs, the deployment automation company for Java applications, today announced the release of the IBM WebSphere Portal Plugin for its flagship product Deployit. The announcement was made this morning during IBM Impact Conference in Las Vegas.
With the IBM WebSphere Portal Plugin, developers and administrators are able to deploy new portlets, themes and skins, theme policies and various other portal settings to their test and production environments.

Deployit’s plugin for IBM WebSphere Portal covers the deployment of portal related artifacts:

• Portlets through the use of EAR and WAR files
• Themes & skins, including automatically applying IBM standards from the latest installed fix pack to custom themes and skins
• Configuration of theme policies
• Portal settings, including the configuration of mark-up and clients support
• Execution of XMLAccess, in order to correctly deploy access rights, pages, labels, URL mappings, resource bundles, property files and policies.

The plugin supports IBM WebSphere Portal 6.1 and above.

According to Vincent Partington, CTO of XebiaLabs, the IBM WebSphere Portal Plugin is yet another milestone in supporting the IBM WebSphere platform in Deployit: “We are very proud to announce the new portal plugin during this IBM Impact event. The IBM WebSphere Portal plugin is demonstrated at the XebiaLabs booth, which is to be found at booth location S 2. Besides the portal plugin, other capabilities of the Deployit deployment automation solution are shown as well.
